Eligibility

Any resident of the Town of Hillsborough or Windsor, age 7 or in first grade or older, may have a library card free of charge. Children under 14 must have written parental or guardian permission to borrow.

** Beginning January 1, 2025, non-residents must pay an annual membership fee of $50.00 per card. The annual membership begins on the day of your payment. Senior citizens 65 or older will pay $45. This amount reflects the amount Hillsborough tax payers pay yearly through their taxes for the Library.

Non-resident students in the Hillsborough-Deering School District, and those who work in Hillsborough may also obtain a card free of charge. We will ask to see proof of employment.

How to get a Library Card

Come to the library with identification, preferably a driver’s license or a piece of mail from a utility company that shows your physical (street) address. We apologize but P.O. Box numbers cannot be accepted. We also need the name and phone number of a contact person not living with you where we can leave a message or contact you should you move.
