Patron Code of Conduct Policy
The Fuller Public Library wants to be a welcoming space for all. We expect people to be respectful and behave in a manner that does not disrupt others.
Each patron and each staff member has a personal responsibility to ensure that the Fuller Library is a welcoming public library environment for all.
- Understand that the library is a public place shared by many.
- It is the responsibility of parents, caregivers, or guardians to monitor their child’s behavior, keep them safe, and pick them up before the library closes.
- Children under 10 years old may not be left alone in the library.
- Running and/or horseplay are not allowed.
- Avoid disruptive behaviors that may bother other library patrons, including sleeping.
- The Library is a drug, tobacco, and alcohol free environment.
- “Clean” language is appropriate. Cursing, swearing, name calling, or screaming is not appropriate.
- The Library is not a silent Library, but we do ask that quiet voices are used.
- Monopolizing/obstructing space, seating, tables, equipment, or restrooms is not allowed.
- Respect Library property this includes use of furnishings, fixtures, toys, and materials. Ask staff to move any furnishings, fixtures, or materials. If damage or destruction of property happens you may be asked to replace or pay a fine for the damage.
- No food or beverages are allowed in the Library.
- No cell phone calls in the Library. Please put ringers on silent.
- Be courteous and respect other library patrons and staff.
- Conduct yourself in a safe and orderly way.
- Comply with federal, state and local laws.
- Safeguard personal items.
- Comply with directions or requests from Library Staff.
- Anyone not complying with the policy will be asked to leave.
